The third High-Quality Development Conference of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held successfully from April 10 to 12 at the Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhejiang province. Under the theme “Developing New Quality Productive Forces,Promoting High-Quality Development”, the conference has once again emphasized the purpose of strengthening the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

The event was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine Modernization and the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with significant contributions from the Haihe Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicine. The conference featured a main forum and six parallel sessions, addressing a wide array of topics including major disease prevention and treatment, evidence-based medicine, cross-innovation, post-market research of new drugs, and industrial collaboration.

A significant assembly of minds, the conference saw the participation of 13 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences, over 200 renowned experts in both TCM and Western medicine, and more than 2000 delegates. Marking a milestone for modernization of TCM, the conference witnessed the commencement of the compilation work for “Thirty Years of Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” and initiated the operational mechanism for “Patient-Centered” medical research through its terminal data research. Additionally, the conference announced the “The World Top 50 High Impact Researches of Traditional Medicine 2024”.

The conference underscored the importance of synergy among governments, industries, research institutes, and medical practices for the forward momentum of TCM. The successful conclusion of this event marks a significant step forward in the high-quality development of TCM. The accelerating pace of modernization and internationalization of TCM will better benefit the world.
