About:
New documentary special “Who is Luigi Mangione?” dives into the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Accused of shooting the insurance executive in broad daylight, Luigi Mangione has since been regarded as both an icon and a criminal, taking over social media and headlines with the now infamous suspect photo of Mangione smiling, his face partially obscured by a green hoodie, and the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose” left on ammunition at the scene.
Directed by Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz, the upcoming Investigation Discovery doc looks at the greater conversation on social media as well as Luigi’s own online accounts in order to further explore the person behind the current face of vigilante justice. “Writings and social media posts help to reveal the secret life and troubles of Luigi Mangione, the man accused of the brazen murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and whom so many people are calling a hero.” explains the synopsis.
Watch “Who is Luigi Mangione?” tonight at 8/7c on ID.
